How to set up DSN for Database Access

To set up DSN for Database Access

Step 1

In order to setup DSN for database access in Windows 2000 for ADO (Active Data Object) or IIS manager, there are the steps to follow:

First, you need to go to Administrative Tool and then click on the Data Sources (ODBC). Then, the ODBC configuration panel will appear as shown below:

There are numbers of database drivers that existed. If your driver is not here, please check with database your vendor. Select System DSN. Then click on Add. We are trying to setup up a system DSN that uses Access Database.

Step 3

Later, select, Driver do Microsoft Access (*.mdb) and click on Finish.

Step 4

Then, you need to key in the details of the System DSN that you have just created.

Step 5

To let the system know where抯 the exact location of a Database, click on Select under Database section. From this dialog box, choose the location of your database.

Step 6

Later, click on the OK option. Upon returning to the previous menu, click on OK. Your system DSN is now configured.
