Step 1

You can backup your configuration file by first selecting the Start option and after that, click the Program. Later, you need to choose the Administrative Tools and then click the IIS. Next, you need to click on Backup/Restore Configuration.

Later, a window similar to the one shown below will be displayed.

Step 3

There抯 no backup configuration currently available, to create a backup copy just click on Create Backup. For our example we will backup the original configuration that comes with IIS 5.0. In the window below, type in Original and click on OK.

Step 4

Then this will be saved as a backup in IIS.
