Step 1

To do the remote configuration of IIS 5.0, user is required to be aware of the web admin service port that server is running. We will use the default configuration, which is pot 8443.

Step 2

To access website administration, all the user needs to do is to open a browser and type the following command on your web browser address.

http://compact:8443

(this will basically call out Http services on port 8443)

So you are still unable to access web administrator even if you抮e running on a local machine with IP 127.0.0.1?

IIS requires you to change this to your IP. For example, your IP is 193.1.1.101. just change it under Document Security and modify the 127.0.0.1 to this address 193.1.1.1.
